Ratsasan south movie review

RATSASAN

The number of thriller genre films in Indian cinema, starting from 1949's 'Mahal' starring Ashok Kumar, is not small. Sometimes Horror thriller, sometimes Suspense thriller .. but the number of Psycho thriller pictures is negligible or almost non-existent. From that point of view, the 2016 Tamil film 'RATSASAN' can be said to be the pioneer of Psycho thriller genre in Indian film.

‘Arun Kumar’ dreams of becoming a filmmaker. His only goal is to make pictures with Psychopath. For this he has done a lot of study and research for a long time. But his fortune is not auspicious. Despite many efforts, the producers did not join the alliance. Under the pressure of the situation, he had to be employed in the police with the help of his son-in-law. And in this job a strange case comes in front of him. A series of mysterious disappearances took place in the city and a few days after the disappearance, the bodies of each were recovered in different parts of the city. Arun notices that there is a strange resemblance between each murder. Every victim is around the age of 15 or so and everyone has been brutally murdered in exactly the same way. Arun uses his previous research to understand that this is the work of a special person and he is a Psycho. And the story of the film goes on with finding that Psycho killer.

Director Ram Kumar has beautifully presented a fancy story with the help of the screenplay. For those of us who are fans of foreign thriller movies, this movie is quite acceptable. Everything you need for a good Psycho thriller movie is stored throughout the picture. Even though it is a long picture of two and a half hours, it does not cut the rhythm even for a moment. Every twist in the second half of the film makes the film more interesting. M. Ghibran's background music has also given a worthy accompaniment to the whole. Everyone's acting in the film is smooth in their respective fields. However, Vishnu Bishal's impeccable performance in the role of 'Arun Kumar' is worth remembering

In a word, a wonderful movie.  The film deserves the status of the first successful Psycho thriller in the history of Indian cinema.  It is better to keep this picture above any rating.
